Bro. Skip Dean, Pastor, Highland Bapitst Church, West Monroe, Louisiana

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25 AKJV)
“Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.” (Acts 20:28 AKJV)
Let’s talk church attendance. If you miss one Sunday, you miss almost half a month (13 days) and if you miss 2 Sundays you miss almost two thirds (19 days) of a month. If you miss 3 Sundays you miss 27 days which is almost a month not being with God’s people in worship, Bible study, encouragement and prayer. Other things have come in and taken your time and devotion. At first one may be bothered, convicted, or not at ease but in time it will become a comfort level. This should be a cause for concern. We are seeking the Lord and all He has for us in revival. You can’t have revival if you are not seeking God in His way. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 AKJV)
I thank God for all of you who place the Lord and the Lord’s Day as priority. I want to encourage those of you that have let the weeks and months pass away that can never be recovered and repent and place Jesus as Lord of His Day. You will be glad you did. Let’s keep going for Jesus.

Jesus loves you and I love you,
Yours for Revival
Brother Dean

Stan Taylor, Minister of Music - Click to Read About Bro. Taylor

ADULT CHOIR had an excellent rehearsal last week with great attendance. Let’s keep it up as we prepare the Easter music. Remember to listen to your CD’s.
Adult Choir is the primary worship leading group in our church. Serving in it is an awesome responsibility and a great privilege. If you’ve thought about joining it, be in rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. Since we just started Easter music, now would be a great time to come.
WORSHIP – “If you cannot worship Him on Monday, then you did not worship Him on Sunday. If you do not worship Him on Saturday, your worship on Sunday is not authentic. Some people put God in a box we call the church building. God is not present in church any more than he is present in your home. God is not here any more than He is in your factory or office.” (by A. W. Tozer in The Purpose of Man)

ESL Literacy Missions Workshop
March 17th & March 24th
8:00 am - 4:00 pm @ NOBTS
The training is a 16 hour workshop designed to equip volunteers to teach English as a Second Language as a mission outreach program. Most church members can participate since trainers can teach conversational English without knowing other languages.

There is no cost for the workshop, but the workbook is $3.74.  Pray and see if this is a ministry that you might be interested in joining.

Brandon Rodgers, Minister of Youth and College, Highland Baptist Church, West Monroe

What an incredible weekend.  Spin Weekend (our Disciple Now event) was so good.  We heard some incredible sermons from Ed Newton and was lead in worship by Chris White and his band.  It was so refreshing.  While the weekend is over, I am praying that students would run to Jesus this week.  God is at work in our student ministry.  Students are being awakened to what Christ has for them.  Pray for them.
I want to say thanks to Janis Townsend, Barbara Kennedy, Glenda Moore, Carol Greer, Vivian Terry, Myrna Tarver, Willie Jean Shields, Dorothy Anderson, Norma Price, Don Price, the Sonshine Sunday School Class, Robbie Robison’s Sunday School Class, Teresa Smith, Ricky Smith, Candi Rodgers, Virginia Koonce, Buddy Jones, Kay Young, Brandon Justus, and Claire Justus.  These folks helped in great ways by providing snacks, space for students, transportation, and scholarships.  I appreciate their heart for the Lord.  These folks helped make this weekend possible.  I would also like to thank our staff team (Bro. Skip, Bro. Stan, and Cindy) for allowing me to be out all week to prepare for worship rallies at First West.
I am so thankful for this church and am honored to be your student pastor.  Praise the Lord!

Blessings,
Bro. Brandon
